The Patra Bali Resort hosted a gala farewell dinner on Friday night to mark the end of the Garuda Indonesia/Garuda Orient Holidays MEGA familiarization in Bali.
51 travel agents took part in the action packed week-long famil, travelling to Bali from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Tasmania.
The evening gave the agents a chance to let their hair down and share all their adventures from the week.
One agent retold the story of his run-on with a renegade surfboard, whilst others boasted of the bargains they had found in the markets, or the skills they had acquired during their cooking classes.
All the agents were unanimous in their praise for the activities they had participated in throughout the week, which were taken straight from Garuda Orient Holiday’s (GOH) 2009/10 “Bali on any Budget” brochure.
The agents also discussed the stand-out hotels they had seen during their week of hotel inspections, and which hotels would be suited to which clients.
Blue arak drinks (Balinese cocktails) were served throughout the evening whilst travel agents hummed along to the music of a live band and enjoyed a delicious buffet.
The rain was kept at bay, by the local priest who was hired to perform a ceremony to ensure that the uncertain tropical climate didn’t put a damper on the evening’s celebrations.
